Demands from professional race and rally teams for body preparation are changing rapidly. The first advanced tubular chassis for the next generation of WRC rally car has already been delivered. And for the BTCC Ford Focus (Motorbase team) all the chassis reinforcement, air jacks etc were designed in CAD, laser-cut and installed by Custom Cages on five bodyshells.
Work on the McLaren GT4 race cars now includes subframe modifications in addition to manufacturing and fitting the roll cage to the carbon fibre chassis.
Bodyshell preparation includes:
- Seam welding of the bodyshell.
- Fitting multipoint roll cage.
- Seat tubes.
- Strengthening bodyshell.
- Preparation to R1-R5 specifications.
