The definitive Datsun 240Z Historic cage. Eligible for all FIA historic events and is fully certificated on Historic paperwork. Can be used in race or rally.This is a weld-in roll cage to give maximum strength, stiffness and safety without the surplus weight of Bolt-in fixings.

Manufactured in T45 high tensile steel it is extremely close fitting to optimise strength and occupant safety.

Crossed door bars give improved side-impact protection along with the hoop lateral tube and dash bar.

All tubes CNC laser profiled and CNC bent for superb accuracy and fit.

Various Safari specific optional tubes available on request.

When it comes to historic racing, the design of safety equipment like roll cages is crucial for both safety and authenticity. FIA Appendix K sets strict guidelines that allow historic cars to maintain their original appearance and geometry, while ensuring that safety standards meet the necessary requirements.

The simplicity of historic cages compared to modern ones can be attributed to the fact that materials and engineering standards were different back in the day. The emphasis was more on protecting the driver from certain types of crashes rather than achieving the multipoint designs of today’s standards.

In historic motorsport, the goal is often to balance modern safety standards while still maintaining historical accuracy. Modern cages are more robust, but they don’t necessarily replicate the way cars were originally reinforced, which can affect the authenticity of the driving experience.
