This Ferrari 348 roll cage is a 6-point bolt-in T45 kit for owners preparing a 348 for MSUK-compliant motorsport use while keeping the installation focused and reversible. The design is suited to National and Historic applications where a bolt-in cage meets the required regulation route, giving the car a serious safety upgrade without the fabrication scope of a welded multipoint structure.
T45 is chosen for its high strength-to-weight performance, making it a natural fit for a mid-engined Ferrari where added mass should be kept under control. The bolt-in design supports a cleaner installation process, while the 6-point layout provides a purposeful structure for roll-over protection, harness mounting strategy and cockpit safety planning. It is supplied in bare metal as standard so the finish can be completed around the rest of the build.
Within our Ferrari roll cage range, this 348 kit is aimed at owners who need competition-grade materials and compliance without losing sight of the car's value, packaging and period character. Powder coating is available from £150 plus VAT; add the required RAL code in the order notes if you want us to coat the cage before dispatch. Powder coating normally adds 3-5 business days to the lead time.
Designed and manufactured at our Daventry facility, this Ferrari 348 bolt-in cage gives a rare performance platform a carefully specified T45 safety structure for serious preparation work.

National Range (6 Point Roll Cage):
Our ‘National’ cages are fully MSUK compliant for both Race and Rally (and just about all other disciplines as well). A simpler and more cost-effective safety cage than our FIA-certificated or Multipoint cages but with our second-to-none quality and fit.
The drawbacks would be that they are heavier than an FIA / MSUK certificated design (average 15 to 20 kgs) and don’t add as much bodyshell stiffness as there are fewer mounting points to the bodyshell.
These are manufactured from high-quality CDS (Cold Drawn Seamless) tube with a minimum tensile strength of 510 MPa (although T45 can be specified at extra cost).
“A piece of motorsport history! Especially in historic racing.” This is the opening statement for your car build, and Custom Cages can help keep to this motto.
When it comes to historic racing, the design of safety equipment like roll cages is crucial for both safety and authenticity. FIA Appendix K sets strict guidelines that allow historic cars to maintain their original appearance and geometry, while ensuring that safety standards meet the necessary requirements.
The simplicity of historic cages compared to modern ones can be attributed to the fact that materials and engineering standards were different back in the day. The emphasis was more on protecting the driver from certain types of crashes rather than achieving the multipoint designs of today’s standards.
In historic motorsport, the goal is often to balance modern safety standards while still maintaining historical accuracy. Modern cages are more robust, but they don’t necessarily replicate the way cars were originally reinforced, which can affect the authenticity of the driving experience.
Weld-in cages are still acceptable under the current rules, which is a plus for many restorers and classic drivers, as they provide a strong, period-appropriate safety solution.
Key Features of the Bolt-in Roll Cage Kit:
A roll cage design must comply with the MSA/FIA technical regulations published in the MS UK Blue book. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure his/her roll cage complies with the technical regulations appropriate to the event they are competing in.
